What's the biggest mistake that stock market investors make?
When I was a child I could count till a million.
To test my knowledge, I decided to count the number of grains in a jar full of rice.
When I reached 800 grains, a dilemma hit me:
I was tired and didn’t wish to continue but if I left here all the previous work would have been for nothing.
I decided to continue and left when I had reached 1000; I couldn’t make it to a million.
That day I made a mistake which all investors make at least once in their lifetime:
Choosing a stock for which they don’t have enough patience.
Stocks of different companies take varying amounts of time to give off worthy returns; a tech company grows fast, a fast food chain grows even faster, but a retail chain will take time to grow.
You might have expert knowledge of how a retail chain business works, but if you can’t wait for the amount of time it takes to grow, you will only face disappointments from your investments.
